The veneer of the photograph often seems empty and strangely divorced from the experience and environment that it is intended to represent, recall or evoke.  Glossy photographs taken during an emotional insomnia are severed, revealing a sliver of mirrored reflection, a subsurface that is as impenetrable, obtuse and self-reflective as the print itself.
