THE LIFELINE PROJECT
The Lifeline Project is an ongoing body of work that explores transforming ubiquitous, scribed property lines (often a dash-dot-dot-dash on plat maps) from superimposed dividing boundaries into thickened stitches of abundance with the power to spur collaborative care and action at the scale of the neighbor.
Lifeline 2.0 Neighboring Ear (Auricularia finitima) —CORE Gallery 2026. Inspired by the agency of fungi, and their symbiotic partners, lichen, to break down matter and generate vitality through connection. Like wood ear mushrooms fruiting along a fallen log, these forms listen at the boundary, consuming what divides and returning it as nourishment to plants, soils, creatures, each other.
For the 2025 exhibition at CoCA Gallery, Byproduct & Prototype, UnBound (Lifeline 1.0) considered socio-political boundaries from the perspective of migrating species, flowing water, and deep time to imagine new paradigms for territorial boundaries. The group exhibition showcased artists whose work emphasizes problem-solving, research-based approaches, and a search for innovation and imaginative solutions to issues.
